Applications

Website applications are intended to begin the agency's information and intake process.

Submitting an application does not automatically establish an agency-client relationship, guarantee acceptance into an agency program, or guarantee an adoption opportunity.

Open Arms may contact an applicant after receiving an application to discuss the applicant's circumstances and explain applicable next steps.

Expectant Parent Applications

Expectant parent applications are provided without an application fee.

Submitting an expectant parent application does not obligate an expectant parent to proceed with an adoption plan.

Adoption decisions and legal consent are subject to applicable law and the individual circumstances of the adoption.

Prospective Adoptive Parent Applications

The initial prospective adoptive parent application has a listed fee of $500, subject to the agency's applicable fee terms and agreement.

Under the agency's published fee structure, 85% of the application fee, or $425, is refundable and $75 is non-refundable, subject to the applicable terms governing the payment.

Payment of the initial application fee does not guarantee approval, completion of a home study, admission into the agency program, a match, placement, or finalization of an adoption.

Adoption Program Fees

Based on the current published program structure, prospective adoptive families may encounter costs associated with:

• Initial application and administrative processing
• Home study and background-check services
• Agency program and matching services
• Post-placement supervision and legal finalization
• Other case-specific professional, legal, court, interstate, or travel expenses where applicable

The actual costs associated with an individual adoption may vary. Families should review their applicable written agreement before making payments.

Matching & Placement

Open Arms may facilitate adoption opportunities involving expectant parents considering adoption or newborn children who are legally eligible for adoption.

A potential match does not guarantee placement or finalization. Adoption circumstances may change at any point before the legal requirements for placement and finalization are completed.

Open Arms does not guarantee that a prospective adoptive family will receive a particular number of adoption opportunities or that an adoption opportunity will become available within a specific period.

Family Profiles

Prospective adoptive families may be invited to create a family profile for adoption-related purposes.

Families are responsible for providing accurate information and notifying Open Arms if important information contained in their profile changes.

Open Arms may edit, format, remove, or decline to publish profile information when necessary for accuracy, privacy, safety, agency policy, or applicable legal requirements.

Acceptable Website Use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes.
